Karelle’s workroom Brins de Malice is in Thoureil, a beautiful village logged between the docks and the hillside on the South riverbank of the Loire. Karelle is initially a trained engineer and chemist.
In 2008, she discovers basketry and working with osier. It opens her eyes and she starts to learn with professional basket makers. Karelle is very creative and gives a fresh look to basketry by changing forms and trying new associations of techniques and materials. Her products are inspired by nature’s poetry and the freshness of childhood.
Karelle also organises workshops for beginners and experts, adults and children (from the age of five).
Pendants, decorations, accessories, … when weaving the wicker twig, Karelle wishes to weave human ties above all.
Her workroom is right at the centre of Thoureil, a small town with character inviting visitors to stroll around the beautiful houses made of tufa stone, the traditional boats on the docks and more artists.
